Nike Zoom Structure Triax
The latest version of the workhorse stability athletes shoe by Nike, the zoom structure triax +14uses the same midsole carried forward from the preceding version, the Nike zoom triax+ 13. The result is a very well cushioned and stable ride due to the whole length zoom combined with a fit designed to fit many different foot shapes. The major changes were made in the upper with the fly wire among other details introduced.
As earlier mentioned, the same sole unit form the 13 is used in this shoe. Let’s first look at the main feature used to keep it stable, the medial post. Introducing the medial post involves injecting a stiffer strip of foam into the midsole and is a widely used solution in stability Shoes. The one the structure triax uses extends form the arch end to the heel, providing just the support needed to keep the arch from collapsing when under pressure. The outsole is also wrapped in a plastic shank just beneath the arch, providing stability to counter the torsional flex without increasing the weight too much. This helps prevent the front and back of the feet from twisting unnaturally.
What makes both the triax thirteen and fourteen so popular is the high quality that depends on the zoom air unit which is used throughout the entire length of the shoe. The foot is adequately protected from stability while ensuring that the shoe doesn’t become too bouncy. This shoe is not a small one; it has a high heel while the entire sole is quite thick.
It has deep flex grooves that form a cuboid structure allowing some freedom when running and can easily be adapted to heel and midfoot strikers.
All the changes made to the triax+ 14 are in the upper and are all well thought out introductions. A first look will draw your attention to the Nike fly wire system, which are very strong, lightweight wires used to lock the feet inside the shoes. The fly wire system was only recently introduced to high end Nike Shoes and it is a welcome sign to see them in other shoes in the line.
The other introduction is the upper’s bootie make, where the foot is hugged by a seamless, sock-like upper. The overlays and mesh also appear smoother than those of previous versions.
We rate the Nike Triax 14 as highly as the triax 13. It is a very good shoe for a high mileage overprinted. Not light enough but offer enough stability without having too much rigidity or weight. The comfort is also phenomenal thanks to the superior cushioning. The new introductions made to the shoe’s upper are very nice and improve the fit a lot. I have flat feet, am tall and heavy I enjoy using triax for both long and short runs. You just can’t beatNike Running Shoes.
