NBA Live 09 and NBA 2K9?
Hi…I’m about to buy a new basketball game for my xbox 360. I wanna know which game is best: Live 09 or 2K9…I’m talking about graphics, gameplay, roster updates and so on…please be detailed.
Also I wanna know:
- Does 2K9 Xbox have All-Star weekend with 3-point shootout, slam-dunk contest, rookie challenge and all-star game?
- Can you create your own player on 2K9?

NBA 2k9 is the #1 rated Basketball simulated sports game so that’s basically saying that it has better game play than NBA Live 09.
I’ll sum up the main points for you.
NBA Live 09 has better graphics and has easy controls.
NBA 2K9 though has more realistic game play and its just like real life Basketball.
NBA 2K9 has a better Franchise mode than NBA LIVE.
Honestly NBA 2K9′s online mode has a more feel to NBA Live you get so much options like your own Leagues and Ranked Games. It also has a new Fantasy Basketball feature so the teams pick the players.
The online updates and downloadable content for both games are great.
But I think NBA 2K9 has an edge over live this year.
Still both are great basketball games and either one is just easy to pick up and play.
NBA 2K9 does have the All Star Teams available so you can play as them if you like.
NBA 2K9 does have 3 Point Shooting also but its not that great.
and their Slam Dunk Contest is pretty difficult its fun when you get the hang of it.
Rookie Challenge is available on 2K9 too.
Rookies and Sophomores
and Yes you can create your own player on 2K9.
If your just looking for the Basketball Mini Games then NBA Live 09 is the better buy cause their Dunk Contest is amazing same for the 3 Point Shootout.
So just try the demos just to see what you like.
Just download the demos in marketplace they should be free.
